About us

The University of Haifa UK (UHUK), formerly called the “British Friends of the University of Haifa” was established in the 1970s and has been providing philanthropic support, advocacy, publicity and alumni relations for the University of Haifa ever since.

A Registered Charity (number 270733), meaning UK income-tax payers can claim Gift Aid on their donations, UHUK is also registered with the Fundraising Regulator, adhering to the highest standards of fundraising. It passes 100% of all donations received onto the University of Haifa.

UHUK is run by Executive Director, Marcus Rees-Roberts, with financial administration support provided by Rachel Msika. It is governed by a Board of six experienced Trustees.  

UHUK is proudly supported by a growing network of friends and advocates across the UK who appreciate the University’s point of difference, and the impact its academic excellence and social mission make to Israel. As one of its British founders said, “The University has its own spark of life, a special energy and dynamism with a mixture of the pioneer spirit and social commitment.”
